Incom-CNS Account Manager, Ed Calvert, has become an internet sensation and made his TV debut following his fantastic fancy dress tribute to Columbian goalkeeper Rene Higuita!
Ed’s football team, Headingley AFC, holds an annual fancy dress challenge and the theme for this year was Sporting Heroes. Ed’s brilliant, hand-made creation is a tribute to Higuita performing his famous scorpion kick during a friendly against England in 1995. Unsurprisingly, he won 1st prize for his efforts and a photograph posted on social media by one of his admiring team mates went viral on Facebook and Twitter.
The story was then picked up by Sky Sports’ football based comedy talk show, Soccer AM. Ed says, “Soccer AM saw the photo and got in contact with me last week and asked if I wanted to appear on the show on Saturday in my outfit, which of course I said yes to!”
See above photos of the brilliant outfit and Ed and his team mates getting comfy on the Soccer AM sofa! A well-deserved 15 minutes of fame!
